Scott Allen, president and CEO of Wisdom Tree Technologies LLC, a business management consulting company in Murray, was selected recently for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Cohort/Scholars program, which assists companies to gain skills in negotiation, marketing, leadership and management.

Allen will participate in the 12-week program through a combination of online and in-person sessions this fall. On-site classes will be held at Babson College in Massachusetts, connecting small business owners from across the country. The selection process is very rigorous with applications submitted from across the United States.

“We are honored to be selected to participate,” Allen said. “Our business will benefit in the form of rendering increased job opportunities for the veteran and minority demographics represented in our company.”

Certified as an SBA 8(a) company, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Native American-owned enterprise, Wisdom Tree Technologies serves the IT and telecommunication industries, national defense, law enforcement, national security, special operations, inter-agency, intelligence communities and veteran health care industries.

Founded in 2009 with three employees, Wisdom Tree expects to top 100 employees this year. In addition, WTT has been instrumental in providing internships and hiring opportunities for Murray State University students and graduates.

WTT continues to provide employment opportunities for many graduates who are also veterans, as well as those with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Wisdom Tree Technologies has been a client of the Kentucky Innovation Network and a tenant in the Regional Business and Innovation Center business incubator since they began in 2009,” said Loretta Daniel, director of the Kentucky Innovation Network Murray office. “Mr. Scott Allen and his team are a great example of entrepreneurial success in Kentucky and we are proud of this well-deserved recognition of their hard work.”

In addition to gaining skills, the Goldman Sachs program provides tools, access to capital and business support for participants, allowing them to develop strategic plans for growth and increasing profit.
