  • Industrial revenue bonds
  • Low interest loans
  • Environmental stewardship assistance

Research

Kentucky's colleges and universities – and even high schools – conduct unprecedented research and construct aerospace products that are used worldwide. For example:

  • Morehead State University’s Space Science Center is a world leader in nanosatellite and cubesat technologies that are being used by NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, other universities and aerospace companies around the globe.
  • Researchers at the University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University have collaborated with NASA to create specialized fluids experiments on the International Space Station.
  • The University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University are conducting research into spacecraft thermal protection systems.

NASA Kentucky is actively engaged with NASA and the state’s institutes of higher education on a variety of additional research, education and workforce development projects that will further space exploration and knowledge.

Going the extra mile

Many communities are taking extra steps to attract aerospace-related industries. For example, the newly formed Aerospace Alliance of East Kentucky is working to showcase the Eastern Kentucky region. The Alliance is using its current expertise to attract new and existing Aerosapce companies, from satellite manufacturers to drone makers.

Eastern Kentucky also has been certified Aero Ready. The region was certified due to its existing available labor force and ongoing educational programs.
